Our sports club proudly offers a diverse array of sporting facilities beyond our renowned golf course. These include top-tier tennis, squash, and Padel courts, as well as bowls, along with dedicated cycling paths.
Each facility is maintained to the highest standards to ensure an optimal playing environment for enthusiasts and competitors alike. Members and guests can enjoy these amenities every day, fostering a vibrant community of sports lovers. Whether you’re looking to engage in competitive play or seeking leisurely recreation, our club provides exceptional venues to meet all your sporting needs.
As early as 1963, the club, though initially modest in size, quickly made its mark by affiliating with the Eastern Transvaal Tennis Association (now Gauteng East Tennis Association). That same year, Ronnie Rossouw and Jos Van Der Linde spearheaded efforts to elevate the standard of tennis by recruiting talented players, significantly boosting participation and league entries. The strategy proved successful, as evidenced by numerous wins and certificates.
By the mid-1960s, the rapid growth in player numbers necessitated the addition of two new courts to the existing four. The tennis section not only fostered competitive spirit but also nurtured strong community bonds, highlighted by the Annual Tennis Dance—a key social event that featured a cabaret but concluded in the mid-1990s.
The original clubhouse, a simple wood and iron structure, was eventually replaced with a more durable brick building to align with the prestigious image of the country club. In the 1990s, committee member Guy Mitchell contributed further enhancements, beautifying the surroundings with magnificent roses, barbecue structures, and quaint thatch shelters.
Today, the tennis section remains vibrant with five courts and continues to host a variety of social events, maintaining its legacy as a dynamic hub for both sport and community.
Every Sunday between 08:00 and 12:00 for all BCC tennis members. Balls to be provided by players themselves.

The squash section of our club was established in 1964 with a building originally featuring two courts. Due to increasing demand, two additional courts were added by 1972. A year later, the Squash Bar was opened, and it remains a favourite gathering spot for members today.
The section has a strong league presence, and over the years, numerous players have advanced to provincial and Eastern Gauteng tournaments. Today, the section boasts over 150 members and maintains well-kept facilities that promise continued growth and vitality in the future.

For your convenience, lights for the squash courts can be topped up directly at the Clubhouse reception or via an eft.
Lights are charged as follows:
R25.00 per member for a 45 minutes session.
Guests accompanying a member will be charged an additional R50.00 per session.
The Bowls Club is fortunate to be thriving today. In years gone by the club has been both socially and competitively active and members of both sexes have held numerous District and National Honours both on and off the green. Five Springbok players, Graham Jones, Thinus Oelofse, Annette Terry, May Homer and Paul Homer played out of Benoni Country Club.
The first bowling green is believed to have been operational from 1927 but the first official records were only available from 1947. Today the club boasts three greens in top condition – the Knight, Mc Vicker and Prescott Green as well as a renovated clubhouse for the comfort and pleasure of the members.
Andy Greenwood is currently our dedicated coach. Coaching takes place every Friday afternoon from 3pm at no additional cost. Should you wish to benefit from coaching this can be arranged directly through the Bowls Committee.

We offer three trail difficulties and lengths, spanning from 6km to 20km. For those preferring a less technical ride, easy bypasses are available for all challenging zones and obstacles, or you can opt for the scenic ‘Peacock Runs.’
At Benoni Country Club, we provide unrivalled facilities including changing rooms and showers, a variety of food and beverages, and the opportunity to relax on the terrace post-ride, while enjoying breathtaking views of the forest and fairway.
